Butler County

In a game that had to be rescheduled due to a snow out in early January we defeated the Bears in Morgantown 83-38 on Saturday night. This win made our district record 4-1 (with one game left to play).

Coming off a big win the night before we were not sure what type of intensity we would come out with but our guys were ready to play from the beginning. We led 16-7 at the end of the 1st quarter but we held Butler County scoreless for the first 5:30 of the second quarter to take command of the game. We led 39-14 at the half. The 3rd quarter was the only quarter we allowed them to score double figures in but we still extended our lead to 62-29 going into the 4th quarter. We took our starters out with about 4 minutes to go in the 3rd and our younger guys continued to build the lead.

With our 6 jv guys getting all the playing time in the last quarter we still managed to win the quarter 21-9. We had several guys play extremely well off the bench including Daniel Buckles, Ethan Meredith and Dylan Vaught.

We were 33-60 from the field for 55%. We had 43 rebounds (Daniel Buckles had 10) and 16 team assists with Travis Johnston having 6. Butler County was 13-39 from the field for 33%, pulled down 28 rebounds and had 21 turnovers.

Daniel Buckles was chosen Player of the Game for his 7 points and 10 rebounds.
