TJ Samson Holiday Classic

Before Christmas we played in a tournament at Barren Co. High School. We played 3 games, winning 2, before losing in the championship game.

In the first game of the tournament we played Taylor County. We won the game 51-39. We trailed the entire first half, falling behind 13-10 at the end of the first quarter and 24-20 at the half. In the second half our defense was much better and we held Taylor Co. to 15 second half points. We held Taylor County's 2 leading scorers to 6 points and 3 points respectively. Brady Clemons and Travis Johnston were the two responsible for this.

Our big spark off the bench was Dustin Thomas. Dustin collected 8 rebounds in the second half, including 6 offensive boards. For his effort Dustin was chosen as the Player of the Game.

In the championship game we lost to the Glasgow Scotties 64-60. The game was close throughout but a late 3rd quarter run by Glasgow gave them the lead 45-40 going into the fourth quarter. We tied the game up late but were unable to score on a few critical possessions and Glasgow capitalized by making enough free throws to hold on to the lead.

Travis Johnston was chosen Player of the Game for his 29 points and 5 steals.

Travis Johnston-29
Hunter Gary-8
Aaron Deviney-7
Tyler Saltsman-5
