We had our best all around offensive game of the year Friday night against Daviess County and won 73-49. We broke the game open in the second quarter by making 4 3 pointers and led by 11 at the half. We outscored Daviess Co. 19-12 in the 3rd quarter and 20-12 in the fourth to make the final margin 73-49.
For the game we shot 26-47 for 55% including 10-20 from the 3 point line and 11-20 from the free throw line. Daviess County shot 19-42 for 45% but were 1-12 from the arc and 10-15 from the line. We out rebounded Daviess Co. 26-19. We committed 10 turnovers to Daviess' 16.
Wes Smith scored 10 of his team high 18 points in the first quarter and Bennett Skaggs contributed 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Lance Buckler scored 9 points and pulled down 4 rebounds off the bench. Aaron Deviney scored 7 points and led us with 5 rebounds.
Dustin Thomas was chosen Player of the Game for his post defense in helping hold Hayden Simon to 8 points and picking up 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
